Position Summary

CVS Health is seeking a visionary and experienced leader to join our growing technology organization as the Vice President of Distributed Platforms and Cloud Engineering. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading a team of over 533 talented engineers across Cloud, Enterprise Compute & Storage, Database, and Middleware disciplines. You will be instrumental in defining the technical vision and roadmap for these areas, ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact initiatives that drive business value and support CVS Health's strategic goals.

You will make an impact by:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for Cloud, Enterprise Compute & Storage, Database, and Middleware engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technical vision and roadmap that aligns with the overall business strategy of CVS Health.

  • Lead the architecture and design of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud, compute, storage, database, and middleware solutions.

  • Oversee the delivery of critical engineering projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards.

  • Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent across Cloud, Enterprise Compute & Storage, Database, and Middleware domains.

  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, and recommend their adoption to improve efficiency, agility, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory compliance within your area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in leading large engineering teams within a fast-paced, enterprise environment.

  • Proven track record of success in defining and executing technical vision and roadmaps for Cloud, Enterprise Compute & Storage, Database, and Middleware technologies.

  • In-depth understanding of cloud computing principles and experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise compute, storage, database, and middleware technologies.

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate business needs into actionable technical solutions.

  • A passion for innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
