The Role : The Vice President in MetLife’s Corporate Development-Mergers and Acquisitions Group is responsible for executing strategic transactions globally for MetLife. This position reports directly to an Executive Vice President and represents a critical role in ensuring the achievement of MetLife’s corporate strategy and financial performance. The VP will be responsible for managing M&A projects globally including teams with representatives from regional and functional disciplines. The VP will have ultimate responsibility for financial analysis and modeling in support of EVP as well as for updates of Executive Groups and Directors.

Key Stakeholders :
Leads all aspects of acquisition and divestiture projects including financial analysis, transaction structuring and negotiation of agreements.
Partners with businesses across four regions globally to execute transactions.
Provides analysis and recommendations on corporate financial implications on a range of strategic alternatives.
Manages due diligence process and ensures adherence to consistent quality standards.
Works with leadership team to identify acquisition candidates, structure the deals, direct due diligence and negotiate and close acquisitions. Takes ownership of all aspects of deal. Significant interaction with senior executives. Requires excellent ability in assessing and communicating options to senior management.
Develops and generates strategic ideas through independent analysis and familiarity with industry and company events.
Demonstrated experience with range of mergers and acquisitions including valuation, transaction structuring and negotiation.
Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to focus on details, synthesize broad amount of information into actionable information for executives. Able to quickly spot issues and develop a recommended approach.
Significant experience in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Capital Restructuring, or similar experience managing strategic transactions.
Strong preference for M&A experience within financial services industries.
Significant knowledge of insurance products and financial services including business models and drivers and capital management preferred.
Exceptional quantitative skills.
Excellent communication skills. Able to concisely present orally and in written presentations.
Self-starter with ability to streamline executive decision-making.
Strong leadership skills. Ability to develop junior team members.
Ability to efficiently manage multiple processes.
