Position Summary The Department of Dermatology seeks candidates to join the laboratory research team as Research Technician B, in the lab or Hasan Abaci, Ph.D. Our lab focuses on developing advanced skin tissue models and grafts for disease modeling and skin transplantation. This position will be related to the extension of our recently published work below: Responsibilities The candidate will work under the direct supervision of the PI and a postdoctoral researcher. Responsibilities In vitro culture of primary skin cells from discarded human skin. Generation of 3D skin constructs and other bioengineered tissues. Decellularization of skin tissues. Assistance in the analysis of the components of the skin using immunofluorescence, ELISA based assays, and other basic cell biology techniques. Assistance in the preparation of samples for in vivo grafting studies. Organization of data for presentations and publications. Detailed record keeping of all lab activities, including the planned experiments. Maintenance of tissue culture room and equipment used by the senescence team. Ordering, inventory and other duties necessary to the functioning of research projects. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training and experience. Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques, including sterile cell culture. Other Requirements Experience in decellularization, 3D-printing, and CAD modelling is appreciated. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required. Experience with photoshop, R, GraphPad is appreciated.
