The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a highly motivated, highly organized individual to work in a laboratory team environment with a diverse group of personnel. Responsibilities Carrying out routine research laboratory assignments as well as maintaining, modifying and analyzing cell lines. Collect and prepare research information needed for studies. Maintaining and checking accuracy of instruments and perform preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment. Order laboratory supplies and materials, allocating supplies to various research projects. Provide general support and technical assistance to other laboratory workers. Comply with the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School graduate or equivalency certificate. Technical Training or equivalency and related laboratory experience, usually six months. Preferred Qualifications B.A. or B.S. degree in Biology, Neuroscience or other appropriate science discipline. Previous experience working in a research laboratory setting desirable.
