Position Summary We are currently seeking a Technician A to join the Humanized Mouse Core facility within the Department of Medicine at CCTI, Columbia University Medical Center. This role involves assisting with laboratory operations and conducting experiments. Responsibilities include procurement of supplies, protocol development, equipment maintenance, and execution of both in vivo (mouse colony maintenance and humanized mice) and in vitro experiments (PCR, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Flow cytometry, etc.). Responsibilities Perform assays and prepare solutions following detailed instructions. Set up equipment for experiments, calibrations, and radiation surveys as per instrument requirements. Conduct fully-planned experiments. Maintain accurate records of experimental results. Assist in sample collection for experimental or diagnostic purposes. Order and inventory laboratory supplies. Perform other related duties as needed Minimum Qualifications Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis on chemistry, biology, physics, or related science plus one year of related experience or equivalent in training and/or experience Ability to work in a neat and orderly manner following safety regulations and standard clinical protocols Strong record-keeping skills Effective communication with patients, students, and faculty; previous basic science lab and patient interaction experience is valuable Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with immunohistochemical analysis, including cryostat sectioning, fluorescence microscopy, and proficiency in flow cytometry.
