The New Schoolâ™s Study Abroad Coordinator is a full-time administrative position primarily responsible for coordination of the universityâ™s study abroad operations. Reporting to the Director of Education Abroad and Global Engagement in the Curriculum and Learning, Academic Affairs Office (CLAA), the coordinator is a member of the CLAA team tasked with advising and assisting students through the study abroad process. The study abroad coordinator will assist in growing the officeâ™s programs and in strengthening its relationships within the university through a robust calendar of student-facing on-campus events and outreach throughout the year. The New School is strongly committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and particularly seeks applications from members of underrepresented groups, as well as candidates who share this commitment. RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as primary study abroad advisor for the university, including managing all aspects of the study abroad application process and providing a regular advising schedule for all students. Manage Terra Dotta (Go Abroad) application system and site updates. Serve as Gilman and Boren Scholarship primary advisor and assist with all related outreach. Serve as primary liaison with various University offices (Advising, Admissions, ISS, Student Financial Services, Registrar, Housing, etc.) and with external partners for mobility students, including training relevant colleagues on study abroad programs and functions of the study abroad office. Assists Asst Director of Global Engagement in marketing of events and development of unique content through social media. Develop, arrange, and lead in-person and virtual information and outreach events for TNS students, staff and faculty, throughout the year, including orientation and admitted student Welcome Days. Develop and run pre-departure and return series for all study abroad students. Maintain the Study Abroad officeâ™s webpage. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelorâ™s degree; Minimum two years of experience in international education programs or study abroad in a college or university setting. Experience in the fields of international education or study abroad. Knowledge of Terra Dotta study abroad application management system. Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate and communicate with diverse populations of students, staff, faculty, parents, and international partners. High level of proficiency in Google Drive, MS Office, and on-line database systems. Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and follow-through on multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, efficiency and poise. High level of cultural competence and the ability to communicate well with a diverse population of partners. The ability to work on campus, providing excellent service and support for students in- person. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Masterâ™s degree in Higher Education Administration, International Affairs, or related field. Experience studying, working, or living overseas. Highly developed organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. WORK MODALITY Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and may also work some of the time remotely. This is a student-facing role, and requires a minimum of 3 days per week on campus, with additional days as needed. #LI-HYBRID SALARY $64,500 We look forward to receiving your application!
