Position Summary Established in July 2022, Columbia Global (CG) brings together major initiatives from across the university to advance knowledge and foster global engagement to address complex global challenges. Through interdisciplinary research, education, collaboration, and directed action, Columbia Global fosters groundbreaking scholarship, facilitates leadership development, advances cutting-edge thinking, and implements projects designed for social impact. The Operations team is focused on ensuring the smooth functioning of Columbia Global. The Operations team works with all entities of Columbia Global including supporting the work and functioning of the Global Centers world-wide as well as operations-related work at headquarters in NYC on the Columbia University campus. The Student Administrative Worker (SAW) will play an important operations role at Columbia Global and will handle a number of administrative and operational tasks. The SAW will report to the Assistant Director of Operations and work closely with the administrative team to complete operations-related tasks. The SAW will be expected to work 20 hours per week. This position will be funded through June 30, 2025. Responsibilities Administrative Support: Scheduling appointments, organizing files and managing correspondence. Coordination: Assisting with meetings and coordinating with vendors and suppliers. Inventory Management: Taking inventory and ordering office supplies and equipment as needed. Data Management: Maintaining databases, reports, and spreadsheets. Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service and maintaining relationships with vendors. Recruitment Support: Assisting with recruitment and onboarding processes. Office Management: Assisting with reception and guest services. Documentation: Assisting with design and formatting of operational manuals, guides, and presentations. Minimum Qualifications HS diploma and enrollment in a Columbia University undergraduate degree program. Preferred Qualifications Superb organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and external parties. Proficiency in using office software, platforms and tools for data management and communication, especially Google Suites. Other Requirements A resume.
