THE OPPORTUNITY/POSITION DESCRIPTION This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Senior Staff Associate II is an exciting one. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Create publication-quality tables, listings, and figures, including interactive visualizations, to support peer-reviewed manuscripts, books, and grant submissions. Support and contribute to the submission of manuscripts, grants, and related peer-reviewed submissions. Contribute to the development and implementation of data infrastructure supporting programmatic research activities. Provide training and mentorship in statistical and computational methods to program staff, students, and associates. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Must have a Bachelor?s degree (Masters preferred) in specific research field and 6-10 years of experience working as a data analyst, data scientist, or biostatistician in industry or academic settings Applicants should have evidence of a strong publication record reflecting their contributions to scientific projects Applicants should have experience working with state-of-the-art data science tools and technologies, including code repositories and containerization; for example, use of Docker, Kubernetes, Github, etc Applicants should have experience working in computational programming languages, particularly R, Julia, Matlab, and/or SAS. Applicant should have expertise in time-series data analysis and statistical modeling; non-linear analysis, dynamical systems, and predictive modeling. Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines; Applicant should have the ability to create a high-energy results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other?s contributions; and. Applicant should have the ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.
