Job: Senior Audiovisual Technology Services Technician Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Audiovisual Technology Services, the Audiovisual Technology Services Technician performs all aspects of audiovisual and instructional technology support for classes, meetings, special events, conferences, and co-curricular activities for the College community. Overall responsibilities include the set-up, delivery, and operation of audiovisual technologies; the trouble-shooting, repair, installation and maintenance and audiovisual equipment and instructional technology; and the coordination, scheduling, and training of student workers. Under the direction of the Director, the Technician is also responsible for recording classes and events, helping with the creation, maintenance and upkeep of departmental documents, the scheduling and inventorying of equipment, advising and instructing faculty, students and administrators in the use of audiovisual equipment and software, coordinating with internal partners and external contractors and vendors on system installations or repairs, and representing the department in stakeholder meetings. The Technician also assists the Director with the research and planning of technology purchases and space upgrades, assists with the planning of the departmental budget and is responsible for purchasing departmental supplies. Job Description: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up, deliver, and operate audiovisual and computer technology equipment for classes, meetings, special events, conferences, and co-curricular activities 12 months a year; carry out advanced troubleshooting to resolve problems. Set-up and assist with audio and video recording, web, audio, and video conferencing, and simulcasts. Act as a preferred technician for support of VIP and technologically sophisticated events . Represent the Audiovisual department in Event Review, Fulfillment and other stakeholder meetings. Brief the Director and other A/V Technicians of changes and update support requests on the event management software. Advise f aculty, students and administrators on the optimal setup for a particular venue or event. Instruct and train faculty, students and administrators in the use of A/V systems and related computer software. Train, schedule, and supervise student audiovisual assistants. Monitor student timesheets for bi-weekly payroll. Keep up-to-date scheduling of audiovisual and set up equipment and instructional technology. Create, maintain and update departmental documents such as instructions, policies and procedures, inventory and statistics. Respond to calls for assistance with audiovisual and computer equipment in classrooms and event spaces. Research audiovisual technology. Purchase needed supplies and small equipment. Make recommendations to the Associate Director of audiovisual equipment configurations and larger technology purchases. Assist the Director in planning the departmental budget. Assist the Director in planning classroom and event space upgrades and installations. Perform periodic checks of the multimedia classrooms and other campus event venues to ensure that equipment is in working order. Diagnose, repair, reconfigure and install audiovisual and computer equipment, including preventive maintenance and the security of the inventory. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors and other internal college departments on equipment deliveries, repairs or installations. Respond to customers' questions in a polite and timely manner with complete and accurate information according to department standards. Assist as needed with College-related off-campus events. Skills, Qualifications & Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree (or relevant additional experience). Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role preferred. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of audiovisual equipment and services Demonstrated strong computer skills, including a familiarity with both MacOS and Windows operating systems, including full Microsoft Office suite, email, Web and an understanding of basic networking. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to work as part of a team and independently Exercise appropriate decision-making skills Strong customer service orientation Understanding or willingness to learn new audiovisual systems and technologies Experienced user of audiovisual control systems such as Extron and Crestron OTHER: Flexible hours; evenings and weekends required. This is a 2110 Grade 10 position Pay Range: $35.83/hr - $35.83/hr The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
