Position Summary This job posting is for a full-time Research Assistant in the Brickman Lab at the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain. The successful candidate will primarily conduct structural neuroimaging data analysis for ongoing studies involving cognition and dementia. To this end, the successful candidate will implement existing neuroimaging analysis protocols, refine existing neuroimaging software, manage data transfer and data basing, and work with the principal investigator and other team members in the integration of neuroimaging and behavioral data. Responsibilities The successful applicant should have at least some familiarity with the use of statistical and coding software (SPSS/R, Linux, Bash, MATLAB/Python) and have a background in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, math, physics, or related field. Preference will be given to applicants who have a background in neuroimaging, including experience with neuroimaging software (such as SPM, FSL, MRico, or FreeSurfer), and experience in clinical research coordination. Must be able to prioritize assignments and work independently, but also collaborate in a professional manner within the lab and with outside research teams. The ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion, maintain a high level of confidentiality, and proactively engage in the scientific process is essential. Must be highly organized and diligent at keeping records, show enthusiasm and curiosity to learn, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Minimum Qualifications This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience, or an equivalent in education, training and experience. Preferred Qualifications Prior knowledge of or interest in aging and dementia would be useful. The ability to speak English and Spanish at a native level would be a big plus. Specific knowledge/experience in the analysis of white matter hyperintensities, diffusion tensor imaging metrics, and regional volumetry/cortical thickness is helpful, but not strictly required.
