Collaborate with in-house counsel to ensure deadlines are met with government filings. Oversee and administer real estate transactions partnering with in-house counsel on real estate filings, leases, purchase and sales transactions, agreements and recurring action items. Analyze and review documents regarding real estate closing transactions and filings, mechanicâ™s liens, licenses and various assignments relating to NYU properties and global sites to prepare for closings, document execution and submission. Create and document processes and checklists in connection with transactions to implement departmental practices for transactions across matters. Collaborate with NYU departments, University personnel, senior administration, government agencies and external parties to determine the accuracy and comprehensiveness of documents for submission with the NYC Department of Finance and other governmental agencies. Manage various projects, fact finding research and review of archival records, prepare legal documents, review title commitments and documents, coordinate with attorneys to determine best course of action interpreting local agency guidelines and internal practices to meet required deadlines. This position will report to the Senior University Counsel and Associate General Counsels. Principal Duties Include: Prepare real estate loan documents from contract execution through post closing. Review and prepare real estate filings, leases, purchase and sale transactions, various agreements, mechanicâ™s liens and various requests for NYU properties and global sites. Collaborate with in house counsel attorneys, campus liaisons, government agencies and external parties to compile the data, complete forms and organize the required agreements to execute recurring transactions and confidential matters. Work closely with attorneys to manage and monitor appointments, real estate closings, meetings, conferences and deliverables of legal documents. Submit documents for filing with local agencies and the NYC Department of Finance, manage details executing forms, contracts and agreements. Work closely with the real estate attorneys on on more complex matters and practices regarding record retention. Responsibilities Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree Post-bachelor's degree paralegal certification with a real estate focus preferred. Required Experience: 2+ years years relevant experience, including experience with real estate transactions and documents in connection with purchase, sales and leases, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience: 3+ years real estate experience Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: ⢠Knowledge of real estate documents and forms and contracts, applications for approval and renewals ⢠Competency in government sites and requirements for deliverables ⢠Proactive, strategic and detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to quality, efficiency and effectiveness is required ⢠Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects ⢠Must be a self starter and possess excellent time-management abilities ⢠Organizational, time management, and multitasking skills ⢠Excellent verbal and written communication skills ⢠Keen attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment ⢠Notary license Qualifications In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $88,000.00. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
