LSEG Quantitative Product Research in New York, New York

Role PurposeThe Senior Manager of Fixed Income and Multi-Asset (FIMA) Product Research reports directly to Head of Americas Fixed Income and Multi-Asset Product Management, within the Information Services division at LSEG. The successful candidate will be involved in the research and development of new smart-beta and thematic indexes to expand FTSE’s existing family of Fixed Income and Multi-Asset indexes to cater for the needs of our global sales and client groups. The role will be focused on designing and implementing back-tests, leading quantitative fixed income and multi-asset index research and analysis, contributing to the FIMA research agenda/reports, as well as supporting content creation around product research aimed at deepening client engagement programmes. Role Responsibilities- Contributes to the development of, and promotes use of a new generation of information products, indexes and analytics; including model development, portfolio construction and risk and performance attribution Lease with various teams to establish a client feedback loop to formulate product strategies aimed at creating a differentiated, innovative and best-in-class product portfolio; Lead efforts to support the global FIMA Product and Research agenda with a focus on new index ideas with factor / smart beta, generate simulations and index prototypes Engage with internal and external stakeholders to educate on the FTSE approach and capabilities, support product education, adoption and development of client segment and individual client strategies; Lead research and supporting analysis for new white papers and studies in the Fixed Income and Multi-Asset smart beta and factors space Work closely with the sales, marketing, research teams and product management colleagues to support development, launch and use of fixed income and multi-asset benchmark products and services; Work closely with the US, LATAM and Canadian sales and research teams to identify new business and product development opportunities; Make recommendations to improve the competitive positioning of our fixed income and multi-asset product offering across benchmarks, analytics and data solutions both regionally and globally; Collaborate on the development, publication of product documentation and client communication, as well as internal education and training to support internal teams, product strategies and client adoption; Contribute to the benchmark index product development process; formulating design based on client/market intelligence and thought leadership, rigorously back-testing prototypes, ensuring a high level of operational risk of operational robustness and developing supporting collateral and client engagement programmes with relevant internal teams; Work closely with regional and global team to support the further development of global fixed income and multi-asset product strategies to drive ETF client adoption and AUM-based revenues both regionally and globally, ensuring the FTSE FIMA thematic product is differentiated, innovative and best-in-class. - Manages team members and is responsible for performance reviews and development.Minimum Requirements- This can be either a People Manager or an Individual Contributor role- Post Graduate / Ph.D. in a quantitative field or equivalent- For some roles: Significant experience in programming and developing large software applications, with a strong knowledge of UNIX / Linux- Strong background in statistics, differential equations and numerical methods- Significant knowledge and understanding of investment analytics and quantitative investment techniques, with some specialist product knowledge- Good knowledge and understanding of global financial markets and products- Previous stakeholder management experience.
