Position Summary Under the direction of the Dr. Jason Wright, Chief of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, and reporting to the Clinical Research Manager for Gynecologic Oncology, the Programmer/Data Analyst will support all aspects of the research within the research team including writing the code for cancer simulation models, data analyses, and publications. The analyst will analyze data from large scale data sets as well as collect, enter and analyze clinical data using statistical software. Develop and apply statistical theories and methods to organize, interpret and summarize clinical data to provide information. Generate reports under the direction of the Program Director; contribute to the decision for optimal study design and the proper use of statistical methodologies for studies. Design and validate analysis data sets and preparation of study proposals and grant applications. We seek a Programmer/Data Analyst with computer coding skills. Programming experience and facility in at least one computer language is a requirement. Potential applicants will have completed at least a bachelor?s degree or a master?s degree in any highly quantitative field such as engineering, statistics, epidemiology, computer science, physics, physical chemistry but are interested in applying their skills to cancer care and prevention. The Programmer/Data Analyst primary job will be programming the cancer simulation models which will include writing the code, running simulation, debugging, curating model results, and analyzing data. The analyst will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, clinical researchers, epidemiologists, and statisticians. Hence the ability to work well in teams and communicate effectively are paramount. Responsibilities Use and work with others in the research team using Python, R and other coding languages to develop models and perform analyses. Experience in computer coding in a specific language: Python, R or C/C++. Support the weekly functions of the HIRE group. Perform epidemiologic, biostatistical and clinical modelling with Dr. Wright?s supervision. Ability to troubleshoot and lead portions of the team. Contribute to writing manuscript of analyses, and grant writing. Potential to contribute to and co-author medical articles/publications; our research group publishes >40 manuscripts/year. Minimum Qualifications Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two years of related experience Applicants who hold a degree in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, epidemiology, applied mathematics, engineering, physics) and are interested in contributing to advances in cancer prevention Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication in English, and organizational skills are required Experience in scientific analysis Experience in computer coding in a specific language: Python, R or C/C++ Ability to troubleshoot and lead portions of the team.
