Job: Program Coordinator, Vienna Summer Study Program Job Summary: The Program Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of the Vienna Experience: Culture, History, Language (BC 3013) summer program. During this four-week study abroad language and culture course students will practice and expand their German-language skills by exploring Austrian culture, history and politics in one of Europe's most diverse cities. The Program Coordinator will assist with the planning and organization of Program activities in May and June, and support the Program as it runs in July. The Program will run from July 8 to August 2, 2024. Job Description: Prior to departure: Assist the program director with planning and organization of program activities, including coordination with local service providers and partners During the program: Serve as a language, culture, and personal resource to undergraduate students Be available, including evenings and weekends, to assist individual students with local information and advice, translation help and for unexpected doctor visits, emergencies, or other individual needs Assist the program director and on-site staff with arrival and orientation activities; provide logistical support for the duration of the program, including program evaluation Monitor the general welfare of the participants Accompany all excursions and course-related outings, offering logistical support as requested Keep a list of participant contact information (cell phone numbers) for quick communication as needed Hold weekly check-in meetings with the group Keep track of independent student travel plans during the program for emergency purposes Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed Compensation for this position includes a $4,000 stipend and coverage of flight, housing, and partial meal costs in Vienna during the program dates. Skills, Qualifications & Requirements: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills. Be able to work cooperatively with co-workers and staff from other units of the College as well as faculty, students, and service providers. Demonstrated maturity and tact in handling sensitive situations. Uses discretion when dealing with confidential matters. Excellent organizational skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and have a demonstrated record of reliability, resourcefulness and flexibility. Strong computer skills Qualifications: Must be pursuing a graduate or terminal degree in related field and be in good standing, Must be able to speak and write advanced-level German language Preferred Qualifications : Prior experience living, working or studying in a German-speaking country is desired Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk to various locations around Vienna and other cities, manage flights of stairs. Must be willing to work flexible hours The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
