The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) of Columbia University located in Palisades, New York, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist focusing on the investigation of microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) in various environments and their impast on ecosystem and human health. This Postdoctoral Research Scientist will work collaboratively with researchers from LDEO and the Columbia Chemistry department. Duties will include: Measuring nanoplastics in environmental and biological samples, including snow and soil, and air samples collected from extreme environments. Conducting research on the impacts of nanoplastics on the ecosystem and human beings. Candidates should have completed or be nearing completion of a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Earth Science, or closely related field. Prior work with microplastics and nanoplastics is desirable. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, independent judgement, and demonstrated ability to conduct and publish high-quality research are required.
