Pfizer PGS Finance, Director IDM & EM OpU's in New York, New York

The SMO cluster finance lead will oversee all aspects of financial management and site finance for the IDM and EM SMO operating units. The colleague will be the finance business partner for the Vice President of the clusters and a member of their Leadership Teams. Site Finance Leads and player coaches for the cluster sites will report into this role.

This position is responsible for delivering timely financial reporting and strategic analysis, financial processes, and systems to the cluster as well as maintaining a proper financial internal control environment at the sites. The finance lead will oversee site finance teams who provide on-site finance support to the business. The role will be responsible for liaising between Site Finance Leads, Site Operations colleagues, and GBS to meet operational and business metrics.

This position will be a member of the SMO Finance Leadership Team which helps ensure the OpU is supported in an optimal way and drives colleague engagement and development.

This cluster supports a total spending base of $1B and revenue of approximately $7 Billion, with a headcount of approximatley 6,800 colleagues.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for timely and accurate financial reporting to ensure clear understanding of financial performance

  • Pro-actively partners with cluster leadership to deliver Finance commitments and identify value drivers

  • Develop annual cluster budgets aligned with OpU targets

  • Responsible for accurate and informed forecasting for the cluster and managing risks and opportunities

  • Partners with the business leaders and business development teams to identify, assess and execute on business development opportunities. Ensures rigor of business development case analysis and financial input in investment decisions

  • Play a lead role in the analysis & development of effective strategies for the introduction of new products within the cluster

  • Play a lead role in supporting financial input and considerations to all cluster strategic projects

  • Monitor and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial results. Partner with GBS in successfully performing month end close activities

  • Maintain a proper internal control environment

  • Ensure compliance and consistency to processes and procedures, to ensure business continuity

  • Member of cluster Leadership Team, contributing to decision making and strategic planning

  • Member of SMO Finance Leadership Team contributing to OpU level initiatives

  • Ensure that sites are audit ready at all times for either internal or external review

  • Establish and promote a culture of continuous improvement

  • Oversee all capital investments for the cluster including value assessment

  • Development of staff at all plants - clear communication of objectives and follow-up on attainment of these objectives

  • As required, partner with external agencies to ensure financial support and relationships

REQUIRED BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12+ years of experience as Finance Leader and Business partner in complex and dynamic organizations and environment

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance

  • Strong financial and business acumen

  • Strong understanding of financial processes and controls

  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix organizational structure and to effectively develop business partner relationships is critical

  • Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal / relationship management skills, including senior leadership level interactions; strong experience of working in a virtual team; high performance history of providing clear direction, team alignment, executing priorities and delivering results.

  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to analyze and assimilate data for critical business decisions in a timely manner

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize/manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a time sensitive environment

  • Growth mindset. Ability to navigate in complexity and taking decisions under uncertainty

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advance business degree (MBA or CPA/CA)

  • Experience in manufacturing finance

  • Experience in Life Sciences industry

Work Location Assignment: Flexible

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $173,300.00 to $288,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
