The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will join a high-volume Cardiology practice, providing care to patients in both the outpatient (Goshen & Port Jervis) and inpatient (Garnet Health Medical Center) settings. The NP will assess patients for cardiovascular disease and collaborate with physicians to implement effective treatment plans. Responsibilities Conduct chart reviews prior to clinic days and assist in creating patient summaries. Perform comprehensive patient examinations, record medical histories, and provide concise condition summaries to physicians. Participate in rounds at Garnet Health. Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatment options, and associated risks. Collaborate with the clinical coordinator to coordinate pre- and post-procedural testing. Review results of pre- and post-procedural testing and effectively communicate findings to patients, families, and referring physicians. Promptly respond to patient and family inquiries. Assist patients in navigating the evaluation, procedure, and post-procedural follow-up process. See both new and follow-up patients in clinic and other ambulatory settings. Contribute to coordination of care meetings. Help develop referral pathways and engage in outreach to referring clinicians. Conduct rounds on inpatients as necessary. Perform other activities as determined by patient needs. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus one to two years of cardiology nursing experience Hospital experience, preferably in cardiology Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses Must be eligible for DEA certification Current NP Board Certification Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Commitment to prioritizing patient care. Ability to manage multiple cross-functional communications and processes in a timely manner. Exhibits a high degree of professionalism in all communications. Experience in managing complex schedules. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is helpful. Other Requirements Participation in the medical surveillance program. Contact with patients and/or human research subjects Wear N-95 respirator Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
