Position Summary A position is immediately available for a part-time candidate to focus on research in lung disease and lung biology to understand the mechanisms of tissue injury. Responsibilities Prepare and organize media and sterile solutions Perform Elisa assays, prepare and analyze data Prepare PCR samples for sequencing Analyze the sequencing report Preform screening by PCR for transgenic mice Isolation of DNA and mRNA from fresh tissue. Maintain organization of tissue samples Perform PCR and RT-PCR Perform basic office tasks such as faxing, scanning, ordering and answering messages Other duties as required in the performance of activities described above Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Ability to work with supervision Applicant must be able to develop and learn new techniques as required for these studies Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Veteran Columbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.
