Position Summary Under the guidance of the Assistant Director and in compliance with ADA, Section 504, and Section 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, this position manages exam accommodations for eligible students with disabilities, including but not limited to test administration, proctoring services, note-taking services and other academic and classroom accommodations. The incumbent manages the proctoring of academic exams for students with approved accommodations (the department administers more than 9,000 exams annually) as well as manages other academic and classroom accommodations, such as lab assistants for qualified students. The Manager of Exam Accommodations Manager is responsible for ensuring procedural compliance and integrity of the student and the testing program standards. Responsibilities Manages all aspects of exam administration including scheduling of all exams with students and faculty; reserving rooms; coordinating proctor schedules, notifying professors about testing accommodations, verifying student information, preparing and issuing test materials, preparing hardware and software access and adaptive technology equipment, ensuring a secure testing environment, triaging issues that occur during administration while maintaining the highest levels of academic integrity. Following guidelines for maintaining general testing integrity, oversees the complexity of a large volume of exams daily while maintaining accuracy with respect to individual testing accommodations and unique proctoring requirements for each exam. Serves as liaison to faculty and other university partners in all areas related to testing. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises casual employees who serve as note-takers, scribes, exam proctors, and sign-language interpreters. (approximately 175 part-time employees are hired each semester). Establishes work schedules and manages performance and time and attendance issues. Assumes functional and procedural supervision including performance management, mentoring, training, and scheduling of Assistant Manager-Exam Accommodations. Serves as liaison to faculty and other university partners to provide effective accommodations for students with disabilities. In collaboration with Disability Services staff, manages ongoing student disability-related needs. Maintains accurate student records such as case notes, intake information, and all relevant documentation related to accommodations. Assists in the day-to-day management of all exam accommodation issues. Evaluates the effectiveness of accommodations and the processes governing the provision of accommodations. Recommends policies and procedures for improvement of testing activities. Updates and maintains policies and procedures regarding accommodations. Compiles reports and analyzes data regarding accommodations, including costs, utilization, and efficiency. Manages all aspects of electronic database systems to ensure effective coordination and oversight of all accommodations and related processes. Assures the program is equipped with materials and resources necessary for services. Perform other job duties as assigned. Work schedule is Monday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm. Some weekend hours may be required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor?s degree and/or equivalent required. Minimum 3-5 years' related experience required. Specific experience desired in the areas of postsecondary academic accommodations and auxiliary services. Previous experience working as part of a team coupled with ability to work in a flexible, collaborative manner within a diverse and demanding work environment focused on providing high-quality services to students with disabilities. Must be detail-oriented with proven ability to manage complex processes and work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from a broad range of programs and disciplines. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills required. Requires previous supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to hire, train, and supervise student employees. Demonstrated ability to exercise astute judgment with sound decision-making skills. Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with sensitive University data. Computer proficiency is required. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a testing center, particularly within higher education or similar settings, is strongly preferred. Professional experience working with students with disabilities in an educational or comparable institutional setting.
