The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment. The Leadership Annual Giving Officer is a professional fundraiser reporting to the Director of Development, Leadership Annual Giving, in the Office for University Development and Alumni Relations. They will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a targeted portfolio of annual fund prospects. This position typically solicits up to half a million dollars in fundraising annually; facilitates up to 100 meetings per year with alumni, friends, and parents. The Leadership Annual Giving Officer will also identify and cultivate 10 major gift prospects on an annual basis. The Leadership Annual Giving Officer will also work closely with other departments within the Development and Alumni Relations Office including School based Major Gift fundraisers, Alumni Relations, ITS, Research, and other development offices throughout the University to raise the school's local, regional, state, national and international support. The incumbent will also lead special projects (e.g. Councils and Giving Circles) at the request and discretion of the Director of Development, Leadership Annual Giving. Travel, both local and national, is required. UDAR encourages work-life integration for our employees, therefore this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Required Experience: 3+ years, must include experience in fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship of individual donors. Preferred Experience: 3+ years fundraising experience in a research university environment closing gifts at a leadership annual fund level. $1K - $50K preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; strong analytical skills. Ability to plan and implement events and develop marketing strategies. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must be comfortable creating team-supportive structures such as prospect list and portfolio management, data accuracy, and serve as a second resource of support and guidance to LAGO fundraisers.
