About The Role: Junior Sales Specialist – Credit Solutions Sales Team

The Team: This is an exciting opportunity to join the Credit Solutions (CS) Sales Team, a focused and dynamic team building on the last few years significant growth and product development within the C&RS Business. You will be working along-side senior sales experts as part of a team delivering strong renewal rates and closing new business.

Responsibilities and Impact: The C&RS business has a strategic plan to be a $1Billion business globally by 2026 and is a significant contributor to the overall growth of the Market Intelligence (MI) Division. The CS product suite is a critical piece of this growth story as the distribution channel for Ratings proprietary content and a provider of models and workflow tools to underpin the Credit Workflow. C&RS has senior executive commitment to invest where needed to fuel these growth expectations.

We are at the forefront of solving new challenges for clients as the market and regulatory landscape continues to change. For example:

  • Understanding Counterparty Credit Risk, in particular in the aftermath of recent Bank collapses in the US and Europe.

  • Many rely on RatingsDirect’s rich and timely research to understand the potential impact on credit markets of current global themes such as inflation, volatility in interest and default rates, and regional conflicts

  • CreditPro provides a comprehensive picture of historical Ratings default, transition and recovery data, along with analytical tools. Many clients rely on historical ratings performance in times of economic turmoil to feed into future scenario modeling

This is a critical role in the C&RS Sales organization.

As a Junior Sales Specialists you will be part of a dynamic team demonstrating the growth potential of the Credit Solutions suite (RatingsDirect (RD), RatingsXpress (RX), and CreditPro) with dedicated sales focus. You will support a team of Sales Specialists and will benefit from their mentoring and coaching.

You will have the opportunity to influence product and commercial strategy providing the voice of the customer based on your knowledge of customers and competitors and feedback from client interaction.

As the CS and the C&RS business grow, there will be opportunities for growth as a Sales Specialist.

The complimentary nature of CS products with other solutions across MI, means you will have opportunities to build relationships with stakeholders across the MI division and across S&P Global.

  • Meet individual growth goal / quota which can be achieved through:

  • Renewing and growing a book of existing CS (RD, RX, and CreditPro) subscriptions.

  • Selling new RD, RX, and CreditPro deals into Greenfield C&RS clients

  • In collaboration with the Senior Sales Specialists, research, develop and execute on campaigns and other initiatives to drive engagement with prospects to cross-sell and grow your existing book

  • Collaborate with Customer Success Managers and Customer Migration Associates to drive growth and adoption of CS desktop applications that will in turn lead to successful renewal price increases and RD on Capital IQ Pro adoption

  • Adopt structured and disciplined approach to tracking activity, pipeline accuracy, and forecasting

  • Adopt a customer focused, diagnostic selling approach

  • Provide support for the senior Sales Specialists where needed for trial sets-ups and training, contract creation and processing, and post-sale customer onboarding

  • Identify and develop revenue synergy and cross-sell opportunities

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $68,093 to $136,600. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

The C&RS sales organization values partnership, relationships, and communication. It is crucial that you model these attributes. In addition, we are looking for:

  • A commercial mindset. Prior experience selling to, speaking to, or interacting with credit personas is beneficial. A genuine interest in and ability to learn about credit workflows and personas, developing the industry specific knowledge necessary to have credible diagnostic conversations

  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills. Confidence in meetings, presentations and dealing with prospects and customers over the phone or in person

  • Creative thinking and problem solving to drive solutions that address client needs with the CS suite of solutions

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant work experience

  • Proficient in MS Office and using CRM systems
