The Hochwagen lab at NYU's Department of Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Junior Laboratory Associate. This position is limited to three months (July-September 2024). This position is for a trainee preparing for a research path. It will provide development of technical skills; supervision by senior scientists incorporating individual development plan in support of training goals and those of faculty mentor; and possible publication of research findings during appointment period. Responsibilities may include building analysis pipelines for the analysis of repetitive sequences establishing a research setup for analyzing All of Us data working with Master's students to help troubleshoot coding performing independent research on the human genome Projects in the Hochwagen lab investigate the sequence diversity of repetitive sequences in yeast and humans. In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $38,000-39,000 . New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS in Bioinformatics or Data Science or a related field and at least 1 years of research experience. Experience with high-performance computing environments, coding in R and Python, and human genome analysis are a plus. Please upload your application materials via Interfolio.
