TIAA Investment Strategist in New York, New York
The Product Strategy job is a client-facing investment professional that oversees the investment and menu design engagement with plan sponsor clients and consultants. As a subject matter expert in the Defined Contribution landscape, this job represents the organization's key value-added products, including reinforcing their placement on existing and new plan menus. This job is a critical contributor to the development of investment strategy and serves as a point of coordination for engagement on menu design, annuities and other investment products.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Serves as the definitive investment and plan menu design resource for the Institutional Relationships team.
Provides proprietary and non-proprietary investment expertise and fiduciary consulting services in support of the organization’s largest plan sponsor client relationships..
Partners with the Relationship Management and other business partner teams to drive and manage client investment strategy and sequencing, and execute on strategy as part of ongoing Strategic Relationship Planning process.
Evaluates opportunities to engage and support client investment lineups, assessing client need and identifying best-fit solutions.
Collaborates with internal partners (Client Portfolio Management, Product, Distribution, etc.) to find and support menu positions to meet the needs of plan sponsors and consultants (strategies include Target Date funds, Responsible Investment, Alternative and other strategies that align with both the client’s Investment Policy Statement and the organization’s value proposition).
Communicates and delivers presentations with internal customers and external clients/consultants with expertise, poise and confidence downward, upward, and outward and leverages various communication methods to tailor message to audience and maximize impact including conducting investment reviews and specific product-focused content.
Builds and fosters credibility and serves as a trusted partner with the organization's Client Relationships team, relationship managers, clients/consultants and peers.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all organization and subsidiary products, non-proprietary products, as well as the economic and market environment, capital markets, and industry trends.
Advocates for the development of presentation materials and written communications on various product and investment-related topics.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred
- SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work
SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63 required within 120 days of employment
Life and Health Insurance License (Resident State) - Multiple Issuers required within 120 Days
Potential Salary: $135,900.00 USD
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
