The Team Lead will work thorugh leadership and strategy across three main verticals of work: (i) annuity industry and competitive intelligence; (ii) management and maintenance of digital and firm parnterships; and (iii) annuity proposal management and development. The Team Lead will work closely with teams across the Solutions and Inforce, Distribution and Sales Experience Areas, along with IT and Operations. They will take a strategic approach to seamlessly onboarding new third party firms and expanding our distribution reach through integration with third party technology platforms. The Team Lead will also partner with the Distribution and Solutions & Inforce Areas to provide first-class intelligence on our competitors, the firms we do business with and the industry in general. On annuity proposal management the Team Lead will drive development and implementation of annuity product proposals – including output design, user interface design, actuarial spec development and QA/testing.
The Team Lead will be a critical part of New Ways Of Working (NWOW) at Equitable, working closely with the Area Lead using an Agile methodology / NWOW principles. He or she will co-create the Squad vision and goals with the Squad, and will proactively guide the Squad towards these goals under a test-and-learn culture that entails MVP delivery, innovation, frequent engagement with customers, advisors, partners and stakeholders and continuous iteration.
What we’re looking for
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Co-creation of Squad vision and goals with the Squad, defining the Squad Mission and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)
Setting a clear Roadmap to craft and execute strategy and communicate ‘the story’ to key stakeholders (e.g., customers, third parties) and the Squad
Acting as the voice of the customer (e.g., third party partner, advisor), creating a culture of customer obsession and encouraging continuous feedback loops from customers and stakeholders
Owning the Squad Backlog, including building the Backlog, consistently prioritizing the Backlog based on customer and business value, and continuously refining the Backlog to ensure work is clearly described and prioritized
Owning the Squad performance, including tracking and measuring the Squad’s performance health through defined set of Health metrics
Playing an active role in leading agile Ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives
Responsible for the management and career development of the squad members, including compensation and performance decisions.
Key skills:
Experience with the management of third party relationships, vendor onboarding and procurement processes
Strong knowledge of the annuity industry and products, along with a deep understanding of the Equitable IR product portfolio.
Understanding industry trends around automation and the paticular requirements of third party partners
Foster an environment which leverages internal and external data to drive decision making, develop insights and create a plan of execution
Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams including distribution, technology and operations
Proven experience with influencing change with external partners though leveraging agile, adaptive leadership models and change management
Experience leading and managing others
Strong leadership and communication skills with comfort in speaking with business stakeholders
Strong problem solving with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and progress
Agile experience (nice to have):
Experience in managing the backlog, prioritizing value based on understanding the customers, tracking value
Experience in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)

The base salary range for this position is $130,000-165,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
10 years of relevant working experience
5 years of project and/or program management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Annuity product experience
Experience delivering project from end-to-end, demonstrated knowledge of the wholesaling channel and implementing technology solutions
Collaborative problem solver with ability to gather, analyze and synthesize a significant amount of information and turn it into a compelling vision
Self-starter with ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Demonstrated verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Ability to facilitate learning and development through individual and team coaching
Ability to drive the adaption of NWOW / Agile practices and conduct Ceremonies: daily huddle, sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint demo
