Citizens Head of Talent Management in New York, New York
Description
We are seeking a visionary leader to join Citizens HR Development Leadership Team, to play pivotal role in shaping the bank’s future workforce strategy. You will lead efforts to build a future focused Talent Function that equips the bank to deliver exceptional colleague experiences, migrate to skills-based talent planning, and cultivate talent practices and a culture that enable inclusion, innovation and support the bank as it transforms. This role requires a deep understanding of emerging trends, including the implications of generative AI and the ability to establish talent strategies in light of these implications.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Talent Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive, future-focused talent strategy that aligns with the bank’s vision and the evolving nature of work. Focus on transitioning to a skills-based organization that anticipates and responds to future workforce needs.
Talent Planning: Design a forward-looking talent planning process that builds upon implementation of a Talent Marketplace and skills assessments and anticipates the impact of AI on job roles and workforce requirements. Lead Talent Review and Succession planning as well as Performance Enablement as key elements to support Talent Planning.
Diversity & Inclusion: Drive the bank’s D&I strategy by embedding inclusive practices into all aspects of the talent management process. Develop and implement initiatives that promote diversity in hiring, advancement, and development, ensuring that the bank’s workforce reflects the diversity of the communities it serves. Lead efforts to create an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel valued, respected, and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. Measure and assess effectiveness of the strategy, partnering and influencing change. Manage Business Resource groups and foster greater impact beyond building community so that they more directly impact business results.
Executive and Leadership Development: Build an ecosystem that ensures the bank has the leaders with the capabilities required to develop for today and transform for tomorrow. Oversee our Leadership Academy to design and deliver world class experiences that build leaders at every level.
Holistic HR Lifecycle Management: Oversee the design and implementation of an integrated colleague experience across all stages of the HR lifecycle. Ensure smooth transitions from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, career development, and succession planning, with a strong focus on adapting to new workforce realities driven by AI.
Change Leadership: Lead large-scale change management initiatives, ensuring the successful adoption of new talent strategies, particularly those related to technological advancements such as generative AI. Cultivate a change-ready culture by driving engagement, communication, and training programs that prepare colleagues for these shifts.
Data-Driven Strategy & Insights: Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making, track progress, and measure the success of talent initiatives. Develop metrics and KPIs to evaluate the impact and draw insights to cultivate future talent strategies that deliver on business objectives.
Experience & Qualifications:
Proven ability to lead and manage change in complex, matrixed organizations, with a focus on achieving sustained behavioral change and measurable business outcomes.
Expertise in leveraging data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of talent strategies and provoke high impact solutions that more pointedly address opportunities and gaps.
Strong understanding of the future of work, including the implications of digital transformation and AI on talent management, performance enablement, and career development.
Exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to translate complex business objectives and emerging trends into actionable talent strategies that drive organizational success.
Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams, foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, and drive engagement across all levels of the organization.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior leadership and business unit heads to align talent strategies with business goals.
Experience in innovative, high-growth organizations with a demonstrated ability to scale talent initiatives and lead organizational transformation.
Advanced degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
The salary range for this position is $250,000- $275,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
