What we do:

The Supervision Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY) supervises banks in the Second District. The objectives of supervision are to:

  • Evaluate and promote the overall safety and soundness of supervised institutions

  • Ensure supervised institutions’ compliance with relevant laws and regulations

  • Facilitate the stability of the financial system of the United States

  • Support the growth and stability of the U.S. economy

Supervision is carried out through a combination of methods, including on-site and off-site examinations involving staff dedicated to the supervision of an individual firm and other professionals focused on analytical, policy and risk matters. Supervision is coordinated with other US agencies.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York seeks a strategic, collaborative, and proven people leader for the Business Services function within the Supervision Group. The Business Services function maintains a high-quality operational environment in support of the Group’s analytical, exam and policy activities; assesses and mitigates risks associated with the Group’s business lines; provides data and technology support for Supervision staff; conducts quality assurance and establishes a dynamic learning and development curriculum for staff, including the administration of examiner commissioning. The function is also responsible for ensuring that the business lines are well-positioned to meet the Group’s strategic objectives.

Your role as Head of Business Services:

The Head of the Business Services is a highly visible and influential role with the Group and the FRBNY. The selected candidate will become a member of the Group’s senior leadership team and will report directly to the Head of Supervision.

  • Ensure best-in-class delivery in support of the Group’s and Federal Reserve System mission as it relates to Supervision. Collaborating with key stakeholders in carrying out this responsibility is a must.

  • Facilitate the Group’s strategic planning, implementation, and prioritization efforts by working closely and in partnership with Supervision business line leaders, as well as Communications, Corporate Group, People and Engagement and Technology partners within the FRBNY.

  • Proactively assess progress of business line initiatives to enhance quality, contain costs, and improve efficiencies including the development of formal performance metrics.

  • Oversee the Group's independent risk management; learning and development; operational environment; quality assurance and data and technology support not otherwise provided by the FRBNY’s Technology Group.

  • Model the behaviors of a senior people leader by providing opportunities for managers and individual contributors to develop and grow in an inclusive environment.

  • Collaborate with peers and key stakeholders to meet our shared mission, vision, and values, and ensure that staff within the Shared Services function do the same.

  • Actively engage with the Head of Supervision and the other function heads to manage and lead the Supervision Group in a collaborative, coordinated and highly effective manner.
