Job Type: Officer of Administration Bargaining Unit: n/a Regular/Temporary: Regular End Date if Temporary: n/a Hours Per Week: 35 Salary Range: Commensurate with experience Position Summary Reporting to the Administrator and collaborating closely with the Principal Investigators and grants management team, the Grants Manager will be responsible for the pre and post award administration and management of sponsored projects in the Division of Rheumatology. Responsibilities Provide dedicated research administration for multiple grants and research projects. Provide pre-award administration of grants and contracts activities in include proposal preparation, coordination and submission. Responsible for proposal budget and justification preparation. Responsible for completion and submission of Just in Time (JIT) proposals. Prepare and coordinate submission of required documentation for all non-competing renewals of currently funded projects to SPA (e.g. annual progress reports, no cost extension requests, etc.). Responsible for ARC project budget set-up and submission of information to SPA. Prepare and submit personnel appointment based on proposal submitted/award received and input from PI. Maintain all proposal information and forms in Division shared drive. Assist in assuring timely preparation and submission of quarterly sponsored projects attestation statements. Review financial statements and reports for budget and expense items and advise PI and Administrator of under/over budget expenditures. Set-up sub-awards and sub-award SAPOs. Approve and monitor subcontractor's timely invoicing and payments and update subcontractors database accordingly. Ensure establishment of consulting agreements, subcontracts and service agreements. Coordinate project close-outs, including financial reconciliation and time effort documentation, as well as final report to the University Controller's Office. Provide training in research administration processes to faculty and staff. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience Two years progressive related experience in large, complex organization, preferably in a healthcare or University setting Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively with complex systems Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required Other Requirements Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Veteran Columbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.
