Graduate Admissions Advisor - The Katz School of Science and Health Job No: 495851 Work Type: Staff Full-time Department: University Enrollment Management Location: Wilf Campus, 500 West 185th Street, NY, NY Categories: Admissions Position Summary: The admissions team is the first point of contact for prospective students, and central to the successful enrollment growth of highly qualified students who have many different universities to choose from. We believe that informed, engaged, and efficient interactions with prospective students/applicants is essential and that we must provide inquirers with a high standard of service. When working with a prospective student, we seek to understand their goals, the ability of our programs to help them reach those goals, and their readiness to thrive at the Katz School of Science and Health. Our entire focus is on student success. Reporting to the Executive Director of Graduate Enrollment Management, we seek an Admissions Advisor to play a critical role in growing and evolving the enrollment management strategy for the Katz School. The Admissions Advisor is the prospective student's first personal interaction with the school and university. The Advisor will work with a pipeline of prospective students through each stage of the enrollment funnel, from the initial inquiry to matriculation. The Advisor is expected to employ an ownership mentality and partner with the recruitment team and internal/external stakeholders to meet or exceed enrollment goals. Position Responsibilities: Prospective Student/Applicant Counseling: Effectively manage students through the admissions process with control of total application pipeline. Communicate with prospects through multiple channels, including phone, text, chat, WeChat and others as needed. Deliver exceptional customer service standards, i.e., quick answer, rapid callbacks, engaged, warm, and professional interactions with a focus on the prospective student's needs. Qualify new inquiries and applications through meaningful conversations. Nurture prospective students and applicants by connecting them with next human touch or event to ensure an informed decision cycle and a continuity of experience. Use CRM systems to ensure follow up and closure on a weekly basis. Disseminate FAQs and other critical admissions materials Admissions and Recruitment Events: Attend and lead virtual and in-person events as scheduled by the recruitment team (at times outside of the normal schedule) Product Knowledge: Develop a fluency and comfort speaking about Yeshiva University, Katz School, individual program's curriculum, and specific expertise of faculty. Become familiar with trends of the job markets for STEM programs, including Katz's student outcomes such as job placements and salaries, internship placements, and capstone projects Paying for School: Work with the Office of Student Finance, develop expertise to help graduate students navigate paying for school, financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and balancing work with school International Students : Work with the International Students Office, develop a working knowledge of issues faced by international students seeking to enroll in a US based program including visas, transition to graduate school and the US, and applying for STEM OPT Experience & Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree and two years of professional experience required Demonstrated success within higher education, admissions, recruitment, and/or sales Skills & Competencies: Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills Ability to exercise professional judgment in applying problem-solving and organizational skills Excellent time management skills and self-direction Knowledge of STEM programs, current trends, job outcomes, and verbiage for the discipline Intermediary knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint Experience with or interest in developing advanced skills in data management Diplomatic approach to managing and reconciling conflicting priorities Experience achieving high quality outcomes Knowledge of CRM systems like Recruit, Salesforce, and/or HubSpot About Us: Founded in 1886, Yeshiva University (YU) has a strong tradition of combining Jewish scholarship with academic excellence and achievement in the liberal arts, sciences, medicine, law, business, social work, Jewish studies, education, psychology, and more.
