BMCC is looking for a Director for the Tribecca Preforming Arts Center. BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in lower Manhattan, is dedicated to identifying, supporting, and presenting established and emerging artists in various disciplines, including music, dance, and children?s theatre, to the diverse Metropolitan audience. Located at 199 Chambers Street in a burgeoning downtown business and residential district and within a city-owned college facility (serving over 24,000 students), BMCC Tribeca PAC is Downtown Manhattan?s premiere presenter of the arts, reaching audiences from the college community, Downtown residential and business communities, schools, and audiences of all ages. BMCC Tribeca PAC strives to present a broad global perspective by presenting high-quality artistic work in music, theater, dance, film, and visual arts. It supports emerging and established artists who create, inspire creativity and imagination, celebrate diversity and change, as well as instill emotional, social, and political awareness. Reporting to the BMCC Vice President of Administration and Planning and the BMCC PAC Board of Directors, the Director will: Oversee all the performing arts center?s programming activity, including selection, negotiation, and contractual needs of all artists and attractions. This includes family programming, dance, music, theater, and other community-related events. Manage Oversee all the preform marketing efforts, public relations efforts, and all ticketing policies and procedures for the programming. Administer all fundraising efforts, including project sponsors, corporate, foundation, government, and individual solicitations, and manage direct contributions from board members. Supervise the organization?s directors (Technical Director, Marketing Director, Programming Director, Development Director) and the Business Manager and Office Manager, and will conduct searches for these director positions if vacant, cover the position in the interim, or secure temporary replacements if necessary. Enforce all fiscal policies and procedures, develops and manage the annual budget consisting of tax levy, grant, and events generated income. Work with the Business Manager to monitor accounts. This position determines the salaries and rates of all support and hourly staff and generates staff contracts. Work closely with the Business Manager to ensure prompt payments and generate seasonal payroll information for board meetings. Oversee the efforts of the operations team to recruit potential renters of BMCC?s two theaters and enforce policies and procedures regarding contracting, scheduling, and usage of the theaters and their services. Ensure the theaters are well maintained, repaired, and updated as necessary to serve BMCC, the community, and all users. The Director will ensure events receive complete and professional support services in technical support, administrative support, and front-of-house operations (including box-office, house management, and ushers). This position will propose, create an agenda, and schedule all staff meetings and board of trustee meetings. The Director will work with the board of directors and staff to update the strategic plan and work with staff directors to update staff policy for the performing arts center. Will liaise with other arts organizations (local, state, and national). At times, the Director must be available for press interviews. On occasion, they may address patrons before events. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
