Job Type: Support Staff - Union Bargaining Unit: Local 2110 Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35 Salary Range: $57,941 - $59,000 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Associate Director of the Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender (ISSG) and working closely with the Faculty Director and Institute faculty, the Coordinator provides administrative and programmatic support to the Institute. The Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender (ISSG) is the locus of interdisciplinary feminist and queer scholarship and teaching at Columbia University. Offering an undergraduate degree program and graduate certification in Women?s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, the Institute draws its core and affiliated faculty from a diverse array of disciplines across Columbia University and Barnard College. Responsibilities Facilitates the scheduling of WMST courses for the academic year in consultation with the Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies and colleagues at Barnard WGSS. Assists with the Institute?s public programming, including creating event publicity, arranging event logistics (such as reserving space, ordering catering, vendor onboarding, and securing speaker travel and accommodations), and executing tasks related to day-of event management. Process financial transactions for the Institute, including vendor payments and reconciling P-Card transactions. Assist with updating and distributing the Institute?s weekly e-newsletter, including the solicitation of relevant news and events. Manages the upkeep of the Institute?s website and social media platforms; supervises the Institute?s work-study and casual student staff; performs general reception duties, including greeting visitors to the Institute and answering queries directed to the Institute?s general email address and phone number. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications Some college or bachelor?s degrees are preferred. Experience with event coordination and execution is preferred. Interest in/or familiarity with the field of Women?s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and higher education is a plus. Other Requirements Excellent organizational and communication skills are required. The ability to exercise sound judgment, interact with various stakeholders, prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality when appropriate, and meet competing deadlines is also required.
