Position Summary The Columbia University Irving Medical Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a part-time mental health provider (LMSW or LCSW or LMHC or MHC-LP) to play a key role in shaping our integrated, insurance-based, mental health program via the provision evidenced-based psychotherapies and care coordination for patients in the department. Our ideal candidate will have a keen interest in women?s mental health across the life course and/or experience with a perinatal population; have psychotherapy experience as well as an investment in the practice of it; be a team player yet also confident in their ability to make independent clinical judgments; and be well organized. Responsibilities Providing short-term psychotherapeutic treatments (up to six-months postpartum when needed) for patients across the life course with a wide range of mental health issues. Collaborating with the Division Senior Leadership to implement new initiatives and build the program. Collaborating with other team members including administrative staff, medical students, residents, fellows, psychology and social work trainees and research staff. Participating in peer psychotherapy supervision. Documenting in the medical record and entering, as appropriate, charges for encounters. Complying with all HIPAA Regulations, as well as compliance & safety guidelines. Significant opportunities for engagement in related research activities. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in related field, plus 3 years of experience. LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or MHC-LP - Licensed. Preferred Qualifications Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to direct work, drive change and effectively collaborate. OBGYN/women?s health experience preferred. 2-4 years recent psychotherapy experience with individual supervision. Bilingual English/Spanish.
