Under the direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs or designee, the Center for Belonging and Inclusion, will assist in creating and maintaining a supportive academic, emotional, and creative environment for the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) students. This person will: Develop, implement, and evaluate the Women?s Resource Center, LGBTQIA+ Pride Center, and the Center for Immigrant Services programs, workshops, services, and publications, including but not limited to leadership development training, academic success, and personal life issues. Conduct workshops on related topics for students, faculty, and staff. Develop and maintain a resource clearinghouse for women and gender-related issues such as scholarships, career development, parenting counseling, and post-graduate studies. Coordinate lactation services for the campus community. Administer and manage the Center?s budget and daily operations. Provide direct supervision of all Center staff. Provide drop-in services for people visiting the Center (Emergency Shelter information, Respite Services, and Mentoring), including internal and external referrals for short-term transitional and crisis counseling. Take a lead role in developing the campus-wide programs, such as the Annual Student Women?s Leadership Conference & Retreat, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Pride Month, and Women?s Herstory Month, as well as other inclusion programming as needed. Oversee LGBTQIA+ programming and resources including Safe Zone training. Work with the Office of Compliance and Diversity to assist in Title IX (Sexual Harassment, Gender-Based Harassment & Sexual Violence) issues such as Domestic Violence, Stalking, Sexual Assault, Gender-Based Violence, and Sexual Harassment. Participate in special initiatives and projects for the Division of Student Affairs. Assist with and participate in major college-wide events such as commencement, orientation, registration, Honors Convocation and various campus committees. Participate in campus-wide retention and persistence outreach and activities. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and six years related experience required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master?s degree in higher education administration, student personnel administration, counseling, gender studies, or related field preferred. At least 4 out of the six years of related experience in higher education is preferred. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience of professional staff is preferred. Demonstrated commitment, understanding, and sensitivity to the cultural, social, and educational needs of a diverse student body with diverse values and priorities with evidence of successful college-wide collaborations. Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and proven leadership skills. Be a creative, dynamic individual with demonstrated examples of balanced and superior judgment, who can work independently and under general supervision to provide courteous and accurate customer service to students, visitors, and the campus community both in-person and virtually. Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, project management, analytical, and conflict-management skills, and the ability to balance numerous demands, evaluate competing priorities, and adjust planning as needed. Experience using assessment and data as a part of decision-making. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with students, faculty and staff, parents, system-wide colleagues, and community partners. Demonstrated ability to work on sensitive, confidential, and complicated issues with discretion. Ability to work evening hours and weekends as necessary Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Social Media Broad knowledge base of current higher education practice, theory and research, and their application.
