Job Description:

Parsons has been in the process of designing/delivering and installing a new Terrestrial Trunked Radio System (TETRA) and Command Center for NY City infrastructure project. The radio system covers the five boroughs and is implemented on nearly 6,000 buses. The radio coverage is provided with implementation of 35+ radio base station sites throughout the City. The radio base stations are connected through a network of microwave and communication backbone links.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who have experience in working with transit authorities and utilities to coordinate the installation of large infrastructure projects. We expect you to be committed to quality and safety, be a proactive problem solver. Must be local to New York City / Northern New Jersey and able to work 3rd (night) shift and weekends if needed. Must be eligible to work in the US.

The installation of the base station sites involves the establishment of the site infrastructure and close coordination of many system disciplines entailing installation, testing and commissioning of radio, microwave, UPS, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, HVAC, networking, and remote monitoring systems.


Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the engineering field.

Prepares or assists in preparing fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.

Assists in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.

Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, assists in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses.

Assists in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.


  • Engineering degree with 2-3 years of experience.

  • Experience implementing large transit infrastructure projects

  • Must have good written and spoken communication skills.

  • Strong Safety/quality orientation
