The University Registrarâ™s Office is responsible for the planning and management of registration & academic class placement activities for all divisions and programs of the University, with over 10,000 degree students and 3,000 continuing education students. The Assistant Registrar, Registration & Scheduling is a member of the Scheduling & Registration unit with specific focus on the set up and maintenance of registration & academic class placement for the University. This position serves as a member of the administrative leadership team of the office, helps direct overall policies, and gives expert advice and counsel to management on setting the direction of the unit. The incumbent will work collaboratively to foster a team environment and ensure the work of the full unit is considered when prioritizing work. This position requires excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills, as well as versatility, flexibility, and problem-solving ability. It requires a combination of regulatory knowledge, and the understanding of business needs and the systems that support those needs.  As a member of the AACRAO, the Assistant University Registrar will participate in professional activities and connect with peers at other institutions, both regionally and nationally, to remain current on relevant topics, regulations, and best practices.  The New School is strongly committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and particularly seeks applications from members of underrepresented groups, as well as candidates who share this commitment. RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as a member of the administrative leadership team for the University Registrarâ™s Office Oversee all registration functions at the University Ensure all processes are in compliance with all NYSED, MSCHE, and other related regulations, as well as consistent with best practice in the field Assists with the placement of academic classes into classrooms and processes reassignments where necessary. Develop and execute process improvements within the registration unit, as well as collaborate with stakeholders across campus Complete overall term and registration rules setup as well as continually seek opportunities to simplify and streamline related processes Serve as main liaison to academic units on campus for registration concerns Serve on a variety of university committees related to the work of the Registrarâ™s Office Assist with testing upgrades in various systems Assist students, unit staff, and other constituents troubleshoot issues Other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelorâ™s degree required Minimum 2 years of progressive administrative experience in a Registrar's Office Effective verbal and written communication and the ability to manage expectations and needs of the customer base with professionalism Experienced analytical and creative thinker Must possess the ability to creatively problem solve; maintain curiosity; and demonstrate empathy A commitment to equity, inclusion and social justice, and evidence of engagement in this space Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and Google Suite Ability to adhere to The New School Covid-19 Policy PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with Ellucian Banner, Hyperion, Tableau, DegreeWorks, Perceptive, DestinyOne & 25Live WORK MODE Hybrid/Remote - Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.  SALARY RANGE $60,000 - $65,000 We look forward to receiving your application!
