The Team

Tasked with determining the fees S&P DJI charges their clients, the Index Pricing Governance team works closely with stakeholders and senior leaders across the business to build pricing strategy and pricing structures, support client-facing teams in deal creation and negotiations, and delivering pricing-based insights to teams across the business.

The Role

The team seeks an Analyst to support the achievement of S&P DJI’s significant pricing-based targets. The Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the team as they implement new pricing structures and strategies. The analyst will be exposed to a wide range of business functions through various projects including negotiation support for new product / use case pricing, commercial term review, and discount analysis.

The analyst will join a small team in a big spotlight, meaning they will be working on projects that have immediate and significant impact. The role will have a focus on building strong relationships with both client-facing and other internal teams, which will help Pricing Governance to ensure they are plugged in to business and market changes, allowing them to quickly adapt pricing and price strategy in response.

  • Working on and independently leading high-impact projects

Responsibilities

  • Build understanding of pricing levers, deal structures, and negotiation levers to confidently review and provide feedback on quotes or negotiation proposals.

  • Build strong relationships with client-facing teams and internal stakeholders to support negotiations and independently drive pricing projects forward.

  • Leverage knowledge gathered from quotes, negotiations, and deal outcomes to inform price changes or overall pricing strategy recommendations.

  • Analyze price achievement data and leverage relationships across the business to identify existing and emerging pricing trends.

  • Support development, proposal, and implementation of price changes based on business and market requirements.

  • Support overall maintenance of pricing tools and datasets.

  • Create tools to support client-facing teams in preparing for negotiations, including relationship overview or price comparison tools.

  • Report on success of pricing initiatives.

What we’re looking for

  • 1-2 years of experience in similar environments (finance not required).

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.

  • Strong relationship building skills.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to draw conclusions from large datasets.

  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Data analysis skills (Excel, Tableau)

  • Programming skills a plus (Python, R)

  • Microsoft tools (Powerpoint)

  • Google / ChatGPT

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $80,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus.
