The Office of Alumni Relations and Volunteer Engagement seeks an Assistant Director to help fulfill its mission to better serve and engage Baruch College?s network of approximately 170,000 alumni. Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations & Volunteer Engagement, this person will serve as the team?s lead for planning virtual and in-person career programs (informational and instructional seminars featuring career tips for alumni to advance in their profession, often with a career coach as a guest speaker) as well as manage the College?s growing corporate alumni networks. In addition to hosting and organizing career-oriented seminars and webinars, this individual will create new programs to assist alumni with career development, working with independent career coaches as well as colleagues across Baruch?s undergraduate and graduate career centers to produce a range of opportunities and content for alumni. Regarding corporate networks: This individual will develop relationships with Baruch alumni champions working at a variety of key companies in New York City and beyond, helping to produce events and communication plans designed to engage other Baruch alumni working at those specific companies. This individual also will work alongside colleagues in the Office of College Advancement to build new corporate networks at other key companies. The person in this role will also assist with other events and programs hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations and Volunteer Engagement, as needed. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties for the Alumni Relations Specialist will include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with Alumni Relations colleagues and fundraisers across College Advancement to cultivate relationships with Baruch alumni champions at key companies throughout New York City and beyond. Work alongside Advancement colleagues to establish new corporate networks at companies where Baruch has not yet created a formal presence yet. Host virtual and in-person corporate alumni events, coordinating logistics and communications. Work alongside Baruch?s career centers as needed, particularly if corporate alumni events also include a recruiting element. Develop and host career-oriented programs for alumni, virtual and in-person. The content should cover a range of topics that are applicable to alumni at various stages of their careers (with a particular emphasis on mid-career professionals). Develop new career-oriented programs for alumni, such as individual and group coaching opportunities. Serve as the Office?s main liaison to Baruch?s career centers Assist colleagues across the Office of Alumni Relations with other events and programs as needed Input and update data into Raiser?s Edge QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required, ideally in education, nonprofit, career coaching, or cause-driven office environment Preferred Qualifications: Strong event planning and program management skills Friendly, with superior relationship management skills Highly organized and detail oriented Superior verbal and written communication skills Quick learner and proactive problem solver Knowledge of email marketing and data management skills Availability to work some evenings to staff alumni events CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Organizes alumni relations activities under management direction. Plans and implements volunteer management programs Produces communication materials in various formats Organizes alumni reunion events and other functions Works collaboratively with other areas of the College to promote and maintain alumni participation in various initiatives such as student recruitment and career development Tracks and analyzes data to assess outcomes of department events and activities May supervise office operations and/or events budgets Performs related duties as assigned.
