HERC Admissions Coordinator in New York, New York

Under general supervision, the Admissions Coordinator will be responsible for responding to prospective student inquiries through email and phone in a prompt and professional manner. The position will manage the student hosting program, obtain confidential applicant information, assist with screening applicants and other related admissions duties as assigned.
Reporting to the Dean and Director of Admissions, the Admissions Coordinator is responsible for:
Handling confidential applicant and admissions-related information
Providing front-desk customer service and first-line handling of walk-in queries, visiting interviewees, and telephone inquiries.
Providing applicants information, via telephone and email, concerning admissions-and application-related matters
Using electronic application management program (ZAP-AMP) system to review applicant status, record applicant correspondence, and communicate with applicants.
Entering applicant information into the Student Information System (SIS)
Interacting with the Senior Associate Dean of Admissions, the Assistant Dean of Admissions, members of the Admissions Committee, and various departmental and University entities
Using problem solving skills to manage the complex and often competing needs of various constituents
Assisting with the entire interview process, including setting up interview dates, inviting applicants, ordering lunch and refreshments, scheduling the interviews, and utilizing online interview reports through web-based application filters and queries
Coordinating with student volunteers to develop and prepare for the interview season
Assisting to manage, supervise, and support Admissions student volunteers for the student hosting program and daily lunch/tour guide volunteers during the interview season
Escorting interviewees to their interviews on campus
Giving presentations to applicants during interview day welcome breakfast, when needed
Maintaining a positive public image for the Admissions Office by working with constituents to problem solve and provide solutions to issues and questions
Participating in the development and coordination of programming for the two-day accepted students Revisit event
Working closely with other members of the Admissions team to provide support for application processing, including assisting with Admissions decision mailings and programs as needed
Assisting with the screening process
Assisting with other varied related Admissions duties
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required plus 2 years of related experience.
