Job: Adjunct Lecturer: THTR UN3004 Acting I Job Summary: The Department of Theatre at Barnard College seeks a part-time Adjunct Lecturer to teach Acting I during the Spring semester. Job Description: Responsible for instruction, course preparation, developing instructional materials, grading and assessment, and professional responsibilities as a member of the instructional team of the college or academic department Responsibilities include: Teaching 1 - 2 sections of Acting I each week (16 undergraduate students who have not previously taken an acting course. This class is a prerequisite to Acting II); Acting I typically meets in 2 2-hour sessions/week. Holding office hours for one hour each week. Preparing assignments, assessments, and course material as needed for the course. Grading assignments, projects, papers, presentations, and/or exams and providing students with valuable and timely feedback. Developing or updating modules in Canvas to enhance the student learning experience Your exact instructional assignments and other academic responsibilities are determined by your Chair or Director. Skills, Qualifications & Requirements: Qualifications: MFA, or equivalent, and at least one year of college teaching. Stipend: $12,500 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
