Academic Internship Manager (HEA) - School of Education Job ID 28121 Location City College of New York Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Add to My Favorite Jobs POSITION DETAILS The Academic Internship Manager will report to the Dean of School of Education at The City College of New York. The Academic Internship Manager for the Office of Clinical Practice (OCP) will provide leadership and coordination of clinical practice experiences in collaboration with partner schools, faculty, and college administration. The Academic Internship Manager will implement and revise policies for eligibility, orientation, and documentation of clinical practice hours, including fieldwork and student teaching, in alignment with bylaws and objectives of stakeholders. In collaboration with School of Education (SOE), faculty and administration, the Manager will support the accreditation process. The Manager will evaluate and modify fieldwork and student teaching documentation to increase efficiency of data collection and maintenance for both accreditation and alignment with New York State Education certification requirements. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Academic Internship Manager duties include but are not limited to the following responsibilities. ? Work with administration and faculty, identify and develop placement and documentation policies and practices associated with fieldwork and student teaching ? Develop and maintain robust communication with CCNY SOE stakeholders: administration, faculty, students, cooperating school partners, and college supervisors ? Coordinate with administration, faculty, and partners for each semester's student teacher orientation ? Support SOE vision through partnerships with New York City Schools aligned with CCNY SOE values and practices ? Develop communication pathways with partner schools and cooperating teachers to establish, guide, evaluate, and improve clinical practice for CCNY SOE candidates, and develop written materials and website accordingly ? Guide college supervisors to integrate CCNY SOE student teacher assessment rubric and train them to use Microsoft Teams and other platforms ? Update and maintain OCP materials, including but not limited to applications and documentation for fieldwork and student teaching. Develop written materials and website accordingly ? Develop website to clarify OCP policies and practices, including fieldwork and student teaching application and documentation procedures, and mandatory workshops ? Update and maintain study materials for workshops required for certification: Dignity for All Students (DASA}, Child Abuse Identification and Reporting, and School Violence Prevention and Intervention ? Oversee documentation of workshop completion which includes grading ? Provide increasing leadership as chair of Committee on Academic Progress to pay attention to academic progress with dispositional concerns and development among CCNY SOE students ? Work with OCP team to secure placements for CCNY SOE students and student teacher candidates ? Troubleshoot challenges in fulfillment of placement or student roles and expectations ? Develop a calendar each semester to anticipate and fulfill rotating responsibilities of the OCP (i.e., application, placement, and grading) QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required. Develops and administers a comprehensive internship program based on students' field of study Develops assessment tools to analyze and monitor student career development progress; recommends various enhancements to improve students experiences; and analyzes job market trends to determine solutions in response to market conditions Administers the on-campus recruiting program for internships; initiates and maintains communications with employer sponsors; and schedules student interviews; creates and leads student career workshops Provides faculty development related to internships and tracks credit-bearing internships Collaborates with the other College offices to facilitate student outreach and connection with employers for professional development, internships and job opportunities Cultivates relationships with alumni, faculty, administration and students to improve and increase internship offerings May manage professional and/or clerical staff Performs related duties as assigned.
