This position will focus significant energies on creating innovative programs and services for juniors and new transfer students in the College Cohort Program Team. They will play a lead role in the development and implementation of comprehensive transfer orientation and advising, transfer and junior student leader development, junior-year class activities & programming. This person will assist with collecting and analyzing retention and student satisfaction data in an effort to recommend new programs and services to meet the changing needs of juniors and transfer students. Advise and counsel a significant cohort of first-year students, serving as the primary advisor until they declare their major, and remaining as a support and resource person throughout their undergraduate career. Provide overview of curriculum, policies and procedures. Assist with program development and implementation of one of the College's comprehensive academic support programs (e.g. First-Year and Transfer Orientation and Advising; Sophomore Cohort President development and selection; Second-year class activities & programming; etc.) to ensure it meets the current needs of students. Analyze data received through student inquiries, market research, and input and recommend new programs and courses to meet changing needs. Assist in the implementation of marketing events to recruit students for admissions into College's Programs, including developing information sessions and open houses, and attending university-wide and external events. Serve as liaison with faculty and other University personnel, and representing the Dean and the College to internal and external constituencies. Responsibilities Required Education: Bachelor's degree and Preferred Education: MA in higher education/student affairs strongly preferred Required Experience: 2-3 years of experience in counseling, advising, student services, program development or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic environment, orientation, transition programs and sophomore programming. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to interpret and communicate policies to individuals at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
