This individual will be working as a member of the Diversity and International Students team, the person in this position will support all efforts aimed at increasing support and student engagement for the international student population. This person will be charged with overseeing and growing the International Student Mentor Program and supporting all other existing initiatives targeted at international students. They will also assist with assessment and data collection with a view towards developing and enhancing programs targeted at retaining international students and ensuring the successful completion of their degrees. Advise and counsel a significant cohort of first-year students, serving as the primary advisor until they declare their major, and remaining as a support and resource person throughout their undergraduate career. Provide overview of curriculum, policies and procedures. Assist with program development and implementation of one of the College's comprehensive academic support programs (e.g. First-Year/Freshman and Transfer Orientation and Advising; Sophomore Cohort President development and selection; Second-year class activities & programming; etc.) to ensure it meets the current needs of students. Analyze data received through student inquiries, market research, and input and recommend new programs and courses to meet changing needs. Assist in the implementation of marketing events to recruit students for admissions into College's Programs, including developing information sessions and open houses, and attending university-wide and external events. Serve as liaison with faculty and other University personnel, and representing the Dean and the College to internal and external constituencies. Responsibilities Required Education: Bachelor's degree and Preferred Education: MA in higher education/student affairs strongly preferred. Required Experience: 2-3 years of experience in counseling, advising, student services, program development or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic environment, orientation, transition programs and sophomore programming. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to interpret and communicate policies to individuals at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
