Pfizer Senior Manager, Strategy & Consulting, Oncology Division in New York City, New York

ROLE SUMMARY

This role will help shape, develop, and enable strategy development and execution to advance and grow the strategic priorities for Pfizer's Oncology Division. This role/team will 1. Support and facilitate the development of strategic priorities across all the functions of the Oncology Division (Research, Development, Commercial, Medical), 2. Lead significant portions and workstreams of projects related to key brand/ business needs, and priorities across the Oncology Division, and 3. Provide insights and strategic direction into the market and competitive dynamics to improve business performance.

While this position report into the Strategy & Consulting team organizationally, this person will partner closely with the Oncology Division leadership teams, stay connected to key business challenges and opportunities, and ensure that there is alignment with strategic priorities, or adjust priorities where necessary.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with the Oncology Division to understand key value drivers and develop business strategies for the Oncology R&D, Commercial or Medical organization.

  • Tee up/ frame the right questions and decision frameworks, identify alternative scenarios, articulate resulting implications, and develop recommendations for decision-making or action planning.

  • Lead and manage workstreams and small project teams. Build timelines, manage scope and capacity, identify and mitigate risks in workstream and project.

  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to derive and present insights from data and build narratives.

  • Provide perspectives on potential external market signals that could impact future business performance. Develop expertise in market dynamics and identify market trends to appropriately assess opportunities and guide strategic direction.

  • Actively participate in building the culture and internal capabilities of the Strategy & Consulting team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant life sciences or healthcare experience, OR advanced degree (Masters, PhD, MD or equivalent) plus 4 years of relevant healthcare experience

  • Prior experience in/or exposure to Oncology (R&D, Commercial, Medical) is preferred.

  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including mastery in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Ability to work with and communicate complex information and distill into a framework that facilitates decision making.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders without direct authority (Brand and Functional leads)

  • Ability to understand and translate market and competitive dynamics into strategic implications for the business.

  • Demonstrated project management skills in complex cross functional workstreams or projects.

  • Ability to oversee day-to-day work of junior resources, including providing project level coaching, and development.

  • Basic understanding of finance and P&L implications of strategies.

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead with indirect authority.

  • Strong command of English language, spoken and written

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • This is not a remote-eligible role. The position will be physically tied to the New York office.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,200.00 to $218,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
