Pfizer Senior Manager, Project Manager in New York City, New York

The Biopharma, Patient & CDI (C4) team builds and maintains the platforms and capabilities that enable Pfizer Business Units to connect digitally with our external customers and effectively engage and collaborate across teams internally. This includes all digital (web, mobile, omni-channel, & devices) products, platforms, services, and experiences in service of patients, HCPs, payors, pharmacists, or clinical sites. We build advanced cloud-based technology solutions at a global scale that positively impact Pfizer business performance.

Within C4, the Platform and Engineering team is accountable for engineering leadership and integrated platforms evolution across marketing technology programs that enable Pfizer to deliver high-quality, multi-channel experiences via web, mobile, messaging, and connected devices for external customers.

The primary purpose of the Senior Manager, Pr oject Manager is to provide leadership and oversight to continuously deliver digital experiences across customer types. The customer types could include Patients and Caregivers, Healthcare Professionals, organized customers like Hospitals or Pharmacies, or internal Pfizer colleagues.

The Senior Manager, Project Manager is expected to lead/co-lead complex cross-functional projects across business units using appropriate project management and/or agile methodologies (pmi, scrum, agile, waterfall, hybrid, etc.).

The individual filling this role is expected to manage project resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical and business requirements.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Subject Matter Expertise - General

  • Leads/ Co-Leads teams to ensure that all projects are delivered within scope, budget and schedule in accordance with Pfizer Digital Lifecycle processes. Liaise with stakeholders to manage and control changes to project parameters.

  • Works independently to review projects/programs against business case when completed to ensure projected benefits are being realized.

  • Partners with CMO, business lines, other C4 teams and the broader Digital community (Product, Architecture, Cx, Support) to set objectives and achieve key results bringing the right expertise at the right time to ensure product/project success.

  • Ensures the requirements for project governance, portfolio management and financial management are met. Manages the estimation process for incoming projects. Reports on the status of the projects in development to close out.

  • Develops and promulgates best practices with a spirit of continuous improvement. Proactively shares across delivery teams to mature processes and spread innovation.

Strategic Leadership & Delivery

  • Apply advanced knowledge on PM practices to provide leadership and guidance on project planning, execution and implementation activities.

  • Identify opportunities to implement industry best practices for effective project delivery.

  • Establish a robust decision-making model for selecting objective, optimal and prompt decisions for any issues raised.

Resource and Financial Management

  • Lead/Co-Lead operational project teams - people, technological and financial resources to budget.

  • Apply technical and line knowledge to drive technical delivery cost savings targets through effective project estimation, vendor selection and negotiation.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Establish stakeholder communication strategy using a variety of communication tools to ensure timely and effective communication on progress, risks/ mitigation and accomplishments.

  • Anticipate potential objections and manage conflicts and escalations by encouraging an open dialogue across teams.

Coaching and Mentorship

  • Develop ideas with the team to apply learnings and experiences across projects to minimize inefficiencies and build robust practices.

  • Guide and influence stakeholders on acceptable levels of risk-taking within the business unit.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management preferred.

  • 7+ years of Project Management experience, preferably in pharmaceutical industry.

  • High proficiency and proven successful delivery of experiences using Agile development, especially scaled agile and lean techniques and methodologies (Disciplined Agile, SAFe, etc.)

  • 3+ years of collaborating with and managing cross-functionals teams including business subject matter experts, technical experts and compliance teams for project execution.

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience understanding business requirements, technical concepts and business processes.

  • Strong facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Strong working knowledge on MS Tools - Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.

  • Demonstrate a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop, and coach others, oversee, and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Ability to identify and manage project risk mitigation strategies and track to closure.

  • Ability to communicate clearly.

  • Ability to work with others in a constructive and collaborative manner & influence others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Science degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management.

  • Understanding of commercial business process.

  • Marketing Technology Experience

  • Pharmaceutical Industry experience.

  • Ability to operate in a highly dynamic environment and adapt to rapid changes.

  • Ability to build relationships quickly and leverage them to manage the project delivery.

  • Technology solutions delivery experience at Pfizer, including knowledge of Pfizer's Digital Lifecycle processes and associated solutions and policies (e.g., IPRM, CMDB, etc.)

  • Project Management Professions (PMP) Certification.

  • Agile Certification

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • CMO, Business Lines & Client Partners: will partner to align on objectives and key results for Marketing Technology initiatives.

  • Enterprise Product Management: will partner to develop and maintain the roadmap for Marketing Technology initiatives.

  • Platforms, Engineer Ops & Support: will partner to leverage platform capabilities across the Marketing Technology tech stack.

  • Enterprise Architecture: will partner to revise Solution Sketches into detailed architectures.

  • 3rd Party Technology Resource Vendors: will partner to form and oversee out-sourced development teams.

RESOURCES MANAGED

This role will help ensure the effective financial management of a portfolio of projects up to $1-2M in value.

This role will oversee and manage a variable team of contract resources. No direct reports.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
