Pfizer Senior Compliance Counsel, Compliance Investigations in New York City, New York

Senior Compliance Counsel will lead, conduct and support investigations in the Americas (all Enterprise), as well as those arising regionally in research and development. The role includes developing investigative strategy, executing on investigative steps, working with outside counsel (when necessary), conducting root cause analysis, and coordinating with Employee Relations, People Experience, Employment Law and other stakeholders to advise business customers on investigative findings and remediation. Also responsible for providing senior stakeholders with significant matter updates, trends, root cause analyses, and other investigations learnings to support effective risk management.

Role Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Global Compliance Investigations group, manage Americas investigations and related root cause analyses, as well as those arising globally in product research and development.

  • Work with multiple stakeholders, including Legal Division colleagues, external legal counsel, Compliance Division colleagues, Internal Audit, People Experience, and colleagues from Commercial, Pfizer Research & Development, and Medical.

  • Prepare and present written work product, including memoranda and PowerPoint presentations, summarizing the investigative process and findings.

  • Coordinate closeout meetings and calls with business leaders to discuss discipline and corrective action recommendations.

  • Ensure accurate quarterly and other reports are provided to Compliance leads, Compliance leadership, and other Pfizer committees and stakeholders as necessary.

  • Maintain files and records, and update Team Connect database to reflect activity and progress on matters.

Qualifications

MUST-HAVE:

  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent

  • 10+ years professional experience, including significant experience conducting corporate internal investigations and/or counseling life sciences companies.

  • Experience with U.S. anti-kickback laws, federal false claims act, and healthcare regulations and enforcement.

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team to resolve complex matters.

  • Excellent judgment, influencing skills and leadership abilities in working with different stakeholders, particularly with senior leadership.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a significant caseload with appropriate prioritization required.

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical research, development, and quality operations -- including experience with GxP regulations.

  • Additional language skills.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $191,300.00 to $318,800.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.   • The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $172,100.00 to $286,900.00.
