Posting Summary: The Communication, Media, and Learning Technologies Design (CMLTD) Program seeks a Lecturer with expertise in the study of the design of learning and teaching environments. Areas of expertise may include the Learning Sciences, instructional design, new and emerging technologies such as AI and XR, creative coding and making, educational game design, or other research areas related to education and learning technologies design. This position is for a 3-year appointment; it has the possibility to renew after the initial appointment. Documents required for consideration: Resume Cover letter CV Sample writing Names only of three references Job Summary/Basic Function: We seek a colleague to join our interdisciplinary faculty, who brings experience with research and practice examining the role of emerging technologies on learning and teaching across a variety of contexts, within and beyond schools. This position will involve both the teaching and advising of Masters students. Program Information: We prepare students for research and leadership positions incorporating innovative uses of information and communication technologies across all content areas within education, including STEM domains, literacy, social studies, arts, traditional and emerging media, and teacher education.Students explore a variety of socio-cultural and cognitive perspectives to study how applications of advanced digital technologies and new media act as powerful forces that engender, for example, new forms of communication, changes in the nature of learning, and the construction of new real and virtual sites of education. Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses (5-course load) in areas related to one or more of: the Learning Sciences, design and study of instructional technology, emerging technologies, programming, creative coding,and/or game design. Advise and mentor masters students in the Communication and Education and Instructional Technology and Media MA Programs. Participate actively and collegially in departmental activities.
