Pfizer Director, MEET Excellence Lead in New York City, New York

The Meetings, External Events, & Travel (MEET) Excellence Lead is responsible driving large-scale, criticalbusiness areas within the MEET organization in response to the emerging needs of MEET customers. This lead will build processes; design team structures; and identify ways to optimize MEET's support model - all with an eye towards growth and simplification. This role will require significant coordination with business stakeholders and will be responsible for creating business cases that justify the need for change.

This lead must demonstrate accountability and integrity in the face of challenge and respond to change with agility, optimism, and innovation. He/she will collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to help identify opportunities for continuous improvement that will allow the MEET organization to better serve its customers.

This role has 8-10 direct reports and will work closely with MEET LT colleagues, business leaders and Sourcing & Enterprise Services (SE&S) and Global Business Services (GBS) LT. The MEET Excellence Lead will report directly to the Global MEET OperationsLead

MEET Excellence

  • Design, develop and implement strategies for proactive identification of emerging business needs

  • Liaise with key business leaders (incl. senior leadership) to understand emerging business trends requiring MEET; anticipate and influence direction of MEET response (i.e., designing strategy and creating business cases that show ROI)

  • Hire, oversee, and manage a global team of MEET launch strategy leads (in support of upcoming launches) and guide business stakeholders through all launch planning transitions to ensure the highest level of creativity and the greatest savings delivered

  • Responsible for designing roadmaps (incl. budget) to deliver focused expertise of critical business priorities outlined in Blueprint strategy

  • Lead assessment of emerging needs of the business related to patient engagement, and design and launch a team to implement a support model under MEET. Work with Worldwide Research and Development (WRD) and Commercial leadership in design of requirements and service offerings.

  • Redesign Global Congress structure, incl. support for business needs. Lead congress optimization and design a best-in-class model that exceeds the business needs and delivers a seamless user experience

  • Lead direction of integration activities related to M&A work

  • Work closely with MEET Leadership team to identify new business needs that need to be modeled to enhance efficiencies or future blueprintobjectives

  • Ensure alignment with North Star principles of "speed to value, business impact, promote our services, and create capacity"

  • Analyze key trends and Innovations identified by Partner Standards & Innovation Lead to incorporate new business initiatives on track to deliver results

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Recognized as a leader with the ability to present to executive leadership (e.g., Biopharma leaders) and manage relationships with stakeholders globally (incl. significant coordination with business stakeholders)

  • Lead business case proposals for funding and roadmap approval of concepts and services to SE&S, GBS LT, CFO andMEET LT

  • Influence stakeholders to sponsor changes and the financing of these changes through compelling business cases

People Management and Development

  • Design, hire, train and develop high performing global team of 8-10 colleagues

  • Provide coaching and development for team members through structured process and tools including individual development plans and talent development

  • Create a team environment that drives high colleague engagement and adoption of making Pfizer a great place to work

  • Lead ongoing continuous improvement, incl. mergers and acquisition transformations and other global initiatives as needed (pending additional headcount)

Financial Responsibilities

  • Manage a teamof 8-10 global colleagues who are leading global initiatives that bring new business opportunities to MEET and future support of these functions.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of how Pfizer operates

  • Ability to create and deliver MEET LT level presentations (written, verbal and financial estimation)

  • Management of multiple client stakeholders and multiple business areas (WRD, Commercial, Sales,GBS, BioPharma)

  • Deep understanding of Pfizer dynamics and business areas

  • Ability to analytically review and challenge statutory financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, adherence to accounting standards, etc.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management

  • Ability to lead and influence leaders

  • Strong accounting, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and to handle several projects at once

  • High level of self-motivation, energy, and flexibility

  • Strong emphasis on ROI and delivering business services that help improve operational effectiveness

  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement.

  • Proven ability to maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and related internal control documentation

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required

  • Good organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple priorities

  • Proficient written and verbal skills to enable effective communication with all levels of management

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Experience

  • Typical Years of Experience: 10+ years (9+ years with MBA/MS) of experience in management and consultative services including identifying business solutions, designing organizational structures, building business cases and designing the operating model and implementation of the services

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline

  • Fluency in English is a must, additional languages preferred

  • Ability to assess business strategies and align them with the business strategies tied to the Blueprint objectives

  • Experience driving new globalbusiness development activities for a changing landscape

  • Demonstrated diverse leadership experiences including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact

  • Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional, high-performing global teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Knowledge

  • Deep expertise in and understanding of Pfizer's business model

  • Experience in driving new business models for Pharma

  • Ability to engage with senior executives to influence decisions

  • Expertise in strategy development

  • Budgeting and financial management, incl. scenario planning and forecasting

  • Ability to develop strategy for continuous improvement

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $168,300.00 to $280,400.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
