Description

Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is the collection of services and commodities receivables.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Print and review customer accounts and statements for payment status.

  • Email or call customers on collection of payment. Document status for expected payment electronically in invoice.

  • Resend customer invoices as required. If applicable, verify Purchase Order is current and monitor PO balance.

  • Review contract status utilizing both NYSID’s contract department staff and contract database.

  • Revise or resend customer invoices as necessary.

  • Review and resolve customer and member agency inquires and discrepancies.

Enter accurate sales and accounts receivable transactions into computerized accounting system.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred.

  • Courses in bookkeeping, accounting and computers.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a book keeping or accounting function preferred.

  • Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Proven problem solving and mathematical ability.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, high volume work environment.

Proficiency with various computer software applications including computerized accounting systems (Great Plains Dynamics preferred), databases, spreadsheets and word processing (preferably Microsoft Office Suite).

About NYSID:

NYSID is the Non-Profit organization designated by the NYS Education Department under the New York State Finance law to serve New York’s Preferred Source program, which works to provide gainful employment for New Yorkers with disabilities. Rehabilitative agencies throughout New York State which provide support services to individuals with disabilities, choose to become members of NYSID. On behalf of these members, and sometimes in conjunction with private sector partners, NYSID enters into contracts with state and local government agencies for goods and services which disabled New Yorkers create or perform. This position helps to administer the financial end of the contracting process.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00-19.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 37.5 hour work week

  • Monday to Friday
