The Assistant Director for Residential Life, North Campus is responsible for the supervision of approximately 30 paraprofessionals to develop communities that promote the safety, belonging and wellbeing of approximately 950 undergraduate students living in over 13 unique residential communities. North campus is comprised of Morrisson, Lamdin, Hamilton, Park, Wright, Johnson, Katharine Blunt, Larrabee, Smith, Burdick, and Branford. The area has all class years represented with a heavy concentration of first year students within the buildings. The assistant director has a collateral assignment with Student Engagement This is a twelve-month, live-in position. Night and weekend hours required. Ability and willingness to work nights and weekend hours as required, along with occasional holidays on-call.
Bachelor’s degree required. Previous experience in residential life preferred or other applicable experience required Capable of handling confidential/private information with a high level of integrity Proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships with students, families, faculty and peers Must be available to live on/in campus housing, work various evening, overnight weekend and occasional holidays Valid driver licenses and ability to routinely travel to satellite housing approximately 2 miles from the main campus, or nearby hospital for student checks Well-organized, able to work under pressure adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and as a member of a team Ability to interact well with a variety of people from all aspects of the college and community Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, equity and inclusion Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training programs Light travel necessary (Ex. Program shopping, on-call hospital follow-ups with students). Must have excellent communications skills and ability to remain customer service centered when dealing in high pressure situations
