Assistant Coach Women's Lacrosse Title: Assistant Coach Women's Lacrosse Applications accepted through: 06/30/2023 Pay Type: Exempt (salaried) Department: Athletics Reports to: Head Coach Appointment Type: Term Hours Per Week: 37.5 Work Schedule: 44 weeks per year Benefits Eligible: Full Benefits Qualifies for relocation reimbursement: Yes Job Summary: Connecticut College, a highly selective private liberal arts college in New London, Connecticut, and a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), is conducting a regional search for an Assistant Coach Women's Lacrosse. Working collaboratively with and under the direction of the Head Coach, the Associate Head Coach is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the women's lacrosse program. The Assistant Coach will coordinate scheduling of facilities, the promotion and reporting of competition results, and arrangements for team traveling collaboration with athletic department personnel, and will coordinate and participation in athlete scouting. Compensation includes and excellent benefit package. General Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct a program that is consistent with the values and philosophy of the College, the department, NESCAC, and the NCAA. Conduct a program that has as one of its stated goals competitive success, especially with NESCAC opponents and/or traditional non-conference opponents. In collaboration with the Head Coach, prepare student-athletes for competition by planning for and conducting a scouting and competitions within NESCAC and NCAA regulations. Conduct oneself with the highest ethical and moral standards in regards to behavior on campus and in relationships with student-athletes and members of the campus community. Provide a safe practice and competition environment. Have knowledge of and abide by the rules, policies, and procedures of the department, College, and all of the organizations of which the College and the team is a member including NESCAC and the NCAA, understanding that violations of these rules could result in discipline up to and including termination. Assist with the monitor the conduct, academic progress and social well-being of all team members. Provide support staff with team rosters and practice/competition schedules as soon as they are available. Coordinate the scheduling for use of facilities for practices and competition with the Manager of Facilities, Home Events and Recreation. Assist with the publicity, promotion, and reporting of competition results with the Sports Information Director. Coordinate the arrangements for transportation, lodging, meals, and game officials for competitions with the Assistant AD for Business Operations. Coordinate the processing of all equipment orders, payment of bills and deposits of revenues with the Assistant AD for Business Operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is required. Current certification in CPR and First Aid. Must have a strong recruitment experience and evidence of effectiveness is required. Must have the ability to interact well with a variety of people from all aspects of the College and community, strong written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of common coaching practices and the ability to properly instruct and mentor collegiate athletes, including ability to motivate student-athletes and high integrity to manage confidential information, especially Personal Private Information (PPI). Knowledge of NCAA and NESCAC rules and regulations preferred. In addition the incumbent must have the ability to react calmly and effectively in an emergency situation, possession of a valid state issued driver's license is required. Frequent travel is required for competitions and recruitment as well as working on weekends in order to fulfill the obligations of the position will be required.
