Job Overview: The Assistant Coach for the Swimming and Diving program works under the direction of the head coach and assists with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, counseling, and other administrative duties as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director. Essential Functions: Work under the direction of the head coach for the Swimming and Diving program. Assist with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program, including but not limited to: coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, film breakdown, counseling, and other duties. Serve as a positive role model for all student-athletes and represent Albertus Magnus College in a professional, responsible, and positive manner. Follow all NCAA, conference, and Athletics Department guidelines. Foster a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations and assist with the promotion of an environment of institutional control over intercollegiate athletics by Albertus Magnus College. All other duties are assigned by the head coach, director of athletics, and/or athletic administrative staff. Qualifications: Previous experience at the collegiate, club, and/or scholastic levels as a student-athlete and/or coach. Knowledge of collegiate rules and demonstrated compliance with said rules. Relevant work experience may be substituted to meet the qualifications for the position. Education: Bachelors degree preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport(s). General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level. A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience. Work Schedule Requirements : Special Work Schedule Requirements : This position includes weekend and evening hours. Graduate Assistant Coaches are expected to fulfill a commitment to the Athletic Department in line with the department's commitment to educational benefits as outlined in the Graduate Assistant Contract and handbook. A Graduate Assistant Coach is expected to meet the time and performance expectations established by the Head Coach and the department.
